About
Sammie Rogers Jr.
Founder · Green-Energy Entrepreneur · Speaker
Educator, entrepreneur, and public speaker based in Jacksonville, Florida — building pathways from knowledge to ownership for Black and Brown communities.

The throughline
Sammie Rogers Jr. has spent his career on a single idea: the communities most harmed by old systems should own the next ones. That conviction has carried him from the classroom to the construction site — always with the same goal of turning knowledge and materials into generational wealth.
Higher Learning Institutions
He is best known as the founder and owner of Higher Learning Institutions (HLI), recognized as the first Black-owned cannabis vocational and technical school in the United States. Originally launched in Michigan, HLI delivers hands-on career preparation, technical trade skills, and business development — with a focus on helping people from low-income and minority backgrounds enter and succeed in the legal cannabis industry.
Author & speaker
He authored 3 Day Mental Rewire: Workbook, a guide to reshaping cognitive habits and daily language, and speaks widely on accountability, professional growth, and mindset. His community work spans educational and resource subcommittees focused on redevelopment and asset-based wealth building.
The next chapter: hemp energy
Today Sammie is extending the model into green energy — developing carbon-negative building systems from hempcrete and cold-formed steel, and the community-owned supply chain that makes them possible. Same mission, bigger canvas.
